The other night, as I was walking home from Van Ness Muni, I was followed by a couple singing in Italian. Each was singing a different song (or maybe it was meant to be a piece in harmony but it didn’t sound like that). It gave a whole new ambiance to the funky area of Market and Page Street. Plus there was some sort of hipster art opening at a nearby gallery. Then today, as I was walking past Hayes Green (which really ought to be called Walkup and Levitt Park, due to the momentous efforts of Patricia Walkup and Robin Levitt to make that park a reality), I noticed that the building renovation on Hayes and Octavia has exposed the old painted signs on the side of the building: “Drink Acme Beer, Light and Dry”.

Introduction

Good Afternoon. This is my introductory post to my knitting, transit, living in S.F., making art, looking around, looking up and looking down blog. I plan to post once a week by midnight Sunday. My focus will be life here in San Francisco, with occasional forays into life within and beyond. So stay tuned.
